House Closing

March 27, 2008

Updates have been lacking lately as I’ve packed most of my life into boxes and have been concentrating on finalizing the condo closing. Everything should be signed tomorrow afternoon and the weekend will be spent moving. I won’t have internet access till it is installed next week, but then again I will probably be too tired to do anything anyway, so nobody is really missing much. Expect content to make a grand return once everything is settled at the new place and I’ve had the chance to setup an honest-to-goodness home office again.

2007 DJ Wrap-up

March 24, 2008

I know this is a little late, but I saw several DJs last year that I’ve wanted to catch for awhile. For prosperity sake I thought I’d do a wrap up for 2007 of all that I saw in concert… (to the best of what I can remember at least)

Named in no particular order (with venue):

  • Armin Van Buuren (Congress Theatre)
  • Benny Bennasi (Crobar)
  • John Digweed (Vision)
  • DJ Sasha (Vision)
  • Bad Boy Bill (Crobar)
  • Fedde Le Grand (Crobar)
  • Steve Smooth (Crobar)
  • DJ Tiesto (Vision)

By far my favorite in terms of music would have to be John Digweed, followed by Armin @ Congress for the most fantastic visual effects I’ve ever seen. Hopefully this year will be good as well and maybe I can catch a couple new groups…

ZDNet Coverage: Nate McFeters

March 14, 2008

One of my good friends and a fellow security researcher here in Chicago, Nate McFeters just scored his own guest spot on the homepage of ZDNet discussing methods of “Defeating the Same Origin Policy” of modern web browsers. (congrats again Nate!) I’m helping to pimp out his coverage by linking here. Go give his article a read and learn something new and cool about our good friend, the web browser.

BlackHat Video Archive

March 14, 2008

I don’t really like re-posting links to other blog entries, but I thought this was worthy of promotion. Hacknmod.com has a link to the BlackHat archive of video presentations from 2007 and another for SchmooCon. If you can’t make the conference, this is almost like being there… well, not even close really, but at least you can dream…
